Roaming Ghostland
the final days of east germany

Twenty-one years ago -- November 9, 1989, to be exact -- the world changed forever when the Berlin Wall came crashing down.

But that was only the beginning of the story.

While such former Eastern Bloc nations as the USSR and Czechoslolvakia splintered into multiple new countries with distinct identities. East Germany was the only nation to begin a process of vanishing.

The world’s press ignored much of this fascinating slice of history between the Wall and German reunification the following year.

A journalistic memoir, Roaming Ghostland:

The Final Days of East Germany, represents a time capsule intended to preserve and bring to life this utterly mesmerizing period of chaos, uncertainty, exhilaration and hope.

On this milestone anniversary, it is a true privilege to be able to share with you this eyewitness account of East Germany as it was fading into nothingness. A Ghostland.
